PROJECT OVERVIEW
I was drafted in as part of the creative team behind Sheffield Wednesday’s 2019 kit launch, where I helped to create engaging content for release.
The marketing campaign’s tagline was:
#LevelUp with Elev8
The kit featured a pixellated pattern. So I was tasked with creating something eye catching which represents the pattern and the tagline.

We landed on a video game concept. Where the players "Level Up" to earn the new kit.
This ended up in me using a combination the following skills under the content creation umbrella:
- Rotoscoping
- Graphic Design
- Video Editing
- Sound Design
- Content Planning
My first step was creating the menu for our "Sheffield Wednesday" video game, something that matches the tagline: #LevelUp with Elev8
That's when I landed on a retro game theme to match the pixellated effect on the kits, using Adobe Photoshop, Premiere Pro and After Effects I built a bespoke fictional game menu.

The next step then was to animate some iconic Sheffield Wednesday goals. I did this via rotoscoping each frame by hand and compiling this with the designs via Premiere Pro. Check out some of the animation work from 2019 below.

THE OUTCOME
The launch video ended up excelling for Sheffield Wednesday with over 1M+ Impressions across their social media. With a circa 7% engagement rate and well over one thousand people engaging through comments alone. It successfully helped build excitement for the new kit along with new primary sponsors.
